What is the penalty for buying a firearm "under the table"?

Good question, but honestly I don't know. But....if sending a gun across state lines is illegal you might look field striping the pistol and sending the barrel and top slide embly in one box and the lower reciever in the other. Just a suggestion...it might still be illegal.
